Only edge US had was nukes? USSR didnt have a Navy, it had no ability to project power. And its airforce ran on US aviation fuel, and were mostly close range infantry support. They didnt have heavy bombers to speak of. US airframes were vastly superior to Soviet airframes across the board, and the US had a far, far greater production capability for aircraft manufacture and far greater ability to train pilots. US was clearly dominant in the air, at sea, and had the ultimate trump card in nukes. Along with enormous economic superiority and various strategic resource edges. The US just had an overwhelming superiority in basically every arena except ground forces.
