ethical livestock management in a fictional yaoi farm economy

Is it ethical to put down ukes (and eat afterwards! Nothing goes to waste!) If they lose the ability to get mpregnant? Its really hard to make these decisions as a fujo farmer but its becoming a burden on my farm having so many elderly non-breeding ukes
