I inherited my dad's old '89 volvo 740 a few months ago, the plan was to airbag it and cruise around slowly for a while, then LS swap - its pretty much a bolt in kit build with parts from the US and I already have a spare tr6060 gearbox to use. Easy. Relatively cheap as I just need a used ls2 from a wrecked monaro. But.... i wrote of my rs6 last week (it'll be cat n), and I can't bare to think of NOT making use of the 740bhp v10! Pretty sure it'd be the only one in the world (probably for good reason). Now. Problems i can foresee... Bosch MED9.1.1 ecu - never played with them and presume id have to delete the immobiliser and a bunch of body control modules. Id have to use the audi auto box, and its 4wd... any chance it would work in rwd with the centre diff welded? And is that mental with over 1000nm torque? Anyone have any opinions on if this is too stupid to contemplate?
